Frequently asked questions
What makes Cortex AI different from other AI solutions?
Cortex AI is different in 4 key ways:
Cortex AI is built by EHS+ experts who understand how EHS programs operate and where AI can deliver the greatest impacts. This means that we apply AI where we know it matters most.
Cortex AI embeds AI into your workflows and daily tasks to help you see and address operating risks early. But we also know that we cannot design for every AI use case you may encounter. That’s why we’ve created the Cortex AI Control Center, giving you the power to curate AI in the ways you want, helping you adapt Cortex AI as your needs and EHS+ programs evolve.
With Cortex AI, we keep you in control. It is designed to give you full visibility and governance into what AI you’re using, what AI responses you’re getting, and how they are used. No other vendor offers this degree of AI control.
AI is only as powerful as the data that feeds and trains it. By helping you converge your EHS+ data within CorityOne, you have the most comprehensive and secure data set available to power your AI engine and deliver the insights that will truly transform your business.
Cority's AI offering is delayed compared to competitors. Why did it take so long?
When we spoke with customers about AI, one word quickly rose to the top of the list: Trust. They wanted AI now, but they didn’t want to sacrifice things like data security, accuracy, and explainability for speed. They wanted AI they could feel confident with.
It’s for this reason that Cortex is built with three core tenets in mind:
Secure by Design: For over forty years, Cority has protected our customers’ most sensitive information. That promise is embedded into our AI approach.
Built to Last: We’ve built Cortex AI to perform reliably and let customers safely scale its use according to their goals and timelines, even allowing customers to apply AI to their own use cases, so your AI tools always grow with you.
Governed by You: We’ve designed Cortex AI to ensure people are always in control. Every decision produced by AI is observable and auditable, right down to the data sources and prompts used. This reduces the risk of AI errors and ensures utmost confidence in AI responses used to drive your business.
By designing Cortex AI to these principles, we ensure that customers can have utmost confidence in the AI they use to guide their next steps toward EHS+ excellence.
What are some key use cases that Cortex AI supports?
Cortex AI supports a diverse set of use cases across all EHS+ domains, from speech-driven incident reporting and AI-powered medical transcription to invoice scanning to support carbon emissions reporting, and compliance permit analysis, enabling users to focus less on document reviews and more on tangible actions that drive performance improvement.
We don't want AI activated in our instance of Cority. Can we shut it off?
Yes. Cortex AI has been designed to be fully configurable based on the needs and wants of each organization.
Note that Cortex AI is set to ‘off’ by default. Customers can only activate Cortex AI after they sign a contract accepting Cority’s AI terms and conditions.
Once activated, customer administrators can toggle ‘off’ any of the Cortex AI Agents, whether just a few or all, at any time.
What if we only want specific use cases enabled in Cortex AI?
Like CorityOne’s overall system architecture, Cortex AI is designed to meet organizations where they are and grow with them.
The system has been designed to give organizations the ability to configure the tools and workflows they desire, with the ability to toggle ‘off’ the tools they don’t want. Cortex AI’s control center is designed to make activating or deactivating AI use cases quick and simple.
Through our AI Kick-Start projects, our team can help you determine what AI agents are best suited for you and ensure your pace of AI adoption matches your needs and goals.
Do customers need technical skills to use Cortex AI?
No technical skills are required to navigate, use, and find value from Cortex AI.
The Cortex AI Control Center is designed for EHS+ professionals and administrators, with no-code configuration and intuitive interfaces that keep users in control.
While Cority offers multiple deployment options to help customers get started with Cortex AI, we recommend that customers start with a AI Kick-Start Project.
With our AI Kick-Start Projects, Cority will deliver focused admin training, learning guides and resources, and curate a set number of AI use cases that will help customers get up and running fast.
How is Cortex AI's Medical Scribe Agent different from competitors (e.g., Enterprise Health's Ozwell AI)?
Cortex AI’s Medical Scribe Agent is a powerful AI solution designed specifically for healthcare. It’s unique to competitive offerings in four ways:
End to end applications – Cortex AI Medical Scribe unifies speech recognition, text generation and agentic capabilities in one application designed for healthcare. This means you use one tool for these capabilities, not multiple.
Healthcare specific intelligence – Cortex AI Medical Scribe’s medical-grade language model is built to understand clinical terminology, context, and patient data to ensure utmost response precision. This ensures that we can meet the complexity and regulatory demands of healthcare. Other competitive solutions are powered by generic AI models (e.g., Open AI) that do not meet the same standards.
